Veteran Village USA is in collaboration with Hope Floats for Veterans. Together we will achieve the overall goal of building a self sustaining Veteran Community.
Hope Floats for Veterans, Inc. provides a donated 62-acre parcel with a 10-acre lake and heavy equipment located in Clio, Michigan. This will include an organic permaculture food forest, community gardens, and building floating homes (houseboats) for the benefit of homeless Veterans.
The programs through Hope Floats for Veterans offer a hand-up, not a handout! A sanctuary for healing trauma as part of a work-study-release-community service program. Food provided for the hungry and housing for the homeless while building our veteran community!
Their program offers a placement opportunity as an alternative to incarceration by providing opportunities to learn new job skills while living on-site in a floating home (houseboat) with Veteran support groups. Hope Floats provides 24/7 one on one counselors that are disabled Veterans that have gone thru similar experiences (a buddy system). Homeless Heroes may have fallen, but they are not forgotten.
Hope Floats for Veterans, Inc.'s mission is to educate, assist and inspire Homeless Veteran's regeneration by aligning with Veterans to create a thriving Homeless Veteran community of support by using what we have and having what we use.
Together we invest the money raised into day to day operations and to facilities to provide sustainable, community-invested attention to our Veterans. Our team works closely to ensure that every dollar is accounted for and then provides reports back to our donors.
